Lucky stop at St. Louis QuikTrip ends in $2 Million prize won

ST. LOUIS – A $2 million ticket was sold at QuikTrip, located at 2030 Union Road in St. Louis. The winner entered the store to purchase gas and a soda, then decided to try their luck with a 'Super Cash Bonanza' game ticket. The Scratchers ticket they purchased held one of the game's $2 million top prizes. "I went in to buy my Diet Coke, and when I opened my wallet, I had two singles and a $20 bill," the winner said. "After getting my soda, I thought, 'Hey, I'm feeling lucky,' so I asked the clerk if they had a $20 Scratchers ticket."  Hundreds of flimsy stop signs failing across St. Louis "I scratched the ticket in the car and kept glancing at my friend after matching the first couple of numbers," she recalled. "I was like, 'Is this real?' I remained very calm about it." Super Cash Bonanza is a $20 Scratchers ticket released on April 24. The game currently offers over $30.3 million in unclaimed prizes, including another $2 million top prize and two $100,000 second prizes. 

75-year-old suspect in St. Louis County hit-and-run

ST. LOUIS COUNTY -- The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged 75-year-old Richard Laususe with a hit-and-run on Thursday, August 31. Laususe is currently in jail on a cash-only bond of $250,000. Michael Murray, a 62-year-old homeless individual, was discovered deceased at the accident scene, with injuries consistent with those typically sustained in a car accident. On August 24, the suspect was driving a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C350 south on Halls Ferry Road, near Sun Valley Drive, when he struck the victim. A fragment of the defendant's vehicle was left at the scene, later matched to a Mercedes-Benz C350 registered to Laususe. The Atlantic Coast Conference voted Friday to add Stanford, California and SMU to the league next year, providing a landing spot for two more schools from the disintegrating Pac-12 and creating a fourth super conference in major college sports.The additions make the ACC the latest power conference to expand its membership and footprint westward.
